Armed only with a handicam and an unputdownable spirit, Sheikh Nasir, an amateur filmmaker in Malegaon, a small industrial town about 270 kms outside Mumbai, struggles to make his version of the Superman story, titled Malegaon Ka Superman. Supermen of Malegaon cheerfully celebrates the enthusiasm and the commitment of this motley group to make the best possible superhero film they can. It's quite a moment in Faiza's documentary when Nasir finally reveals his Superman: a worryingly gaunt, short brown young man, who appears in sky-blue body suit with M for a reworked emblem. Most of the times, the super-hero is hung on to a horizontal pole, pretending to fly. In one scene, director Nasir drops his camera in water. Must go for the documentary....Read Full Review
