From topless women splashing about in the water, to an unfortunate fellow who loses his penis to a stubborn fish, Piranha 3DD tries hard to recycle many of the same elements that made its 2010 predecessor, Piranha 3D, such trashy fun. But it’s precisely because it tries so hard that this film ultimately fails.....Read Full Review

Piranha 3DD, is too toothless to be any good. It's all such a waste. We're introduced to exploitative underwater cameras but they aren't used to liven up the climax. The 3D promises but never delivers. We see the hot girl from 30 Rock, but she doesn't get naked. Its too lazy to entertain in any way......Read Full Review

The acting and dialogue are just awful. The body parts flopping around are too fake to be frightening. And even the fish don't have much bite.

Piranha 3DD isn’t as wearisome as one would expect. As a horror movie it is mindful about its obligations to its fans and as a comedy, it seeks to milk the hahas in fulfilling them. With its just-about convincing special effects and conventional story isn’t a must-watch for creature horror fans......Read Full Review

It strains to up the gore and self-awareness of it predecessor, and -- despite some game celebrity cameos -- the result is a dispiriting echo of 2010's horror-comedy.

The director, John Gulager, has no idea how to mix his ingredients to create a savvy self-parody. Instead he flings comic bits and gross-out gags around desperately. The signature joke of this series seems to be castration. Just as in the earlier film, a male organ becomes fish food. Why aim high when you can aim low......Read Full Review

The first half of the film merely treads water in anticipation for the eventual bloodbath, and once the teeth start gnawing, it's just one laborious machination after another to get to the end of the movie, which stops without much of a resolution......Read Full Review
