Timur Bekmambetov delivers a silly biopic-meets-horror movie in the curiously titled Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The movie offers some crazy theories that might have inspired laughs, if they weren’t presented so seriously. Walker makes for a likeable hero, and the action scenes work. Now if only they’d invested it with a sense of humor......Read Full Review

You will surely have fun while watching the movie. This wicked period tale keeps your mind busy all throughout -- you find it really hard to distinguish fact from fiction. If you like to spin vampire yarns based on sweet nothings and a happily-ever-after theme, this one is not for you. This one is for those who like to see their vampires bloody... with no trace of humanity......Read Full Review

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter is a smashing movie title with a disappointing film attached to it. There is however, one superbly fun action sequence in which Abe and a vampire throw horses at each other. It is just too absurd and yet weirdly, not absurd enough......Read Full Review

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has visual style to spare, but its overly serious tone doesn't jibe with its decidedly silly central premise, leaving filmgoers with an unfulfilling blend of clashing ingredients.

"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" is without a doubt the best film we are ever likely to see on the subject — unless there is a sequel, which is unlikely, because at the end, the Lincolns are on their way to the theater. It's also a more entertaining movie than I remotely expected........Read Full Review

"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" is such a smashing title it's too bad someone had to spoil things by making a movie to go with it.

At certain points the script seems poised to develop a parallel between vampires and racists. And much as I tried to keep my sense of humor while watching a movie that has none, I lost it during a sequence that cuts between Lincoln delivering the Gettysburg Address and Union troops stabbing the vampires......Read Full Review

The acrobatic repetition bores you breathless. Spare Benjamin Walker, who deserves to go on to better things. But the movie deserves a stake through the heart........Read Full Review

The movie plays safe by cutting every theme down the middle - a swing that's effective when splitting wood or vampire skulls, but dull when applied to filmmaking......Read Full Review
